E-Prosiding Persidangan Serantau Manasik Haji 2025 (MANASIK2025)

MANASIK2025 Putrajaya, Malaysia, 7-8 Oktober 2025 596 The integration of AI into crowd management offers a paradigm shift from reactive crisis response to proactive safety assurance. By combining predictive analytics with real-time monitoring, AI technologies not only mitigate risks but also empower pilgrims to participate with confidence, ensuring that safety becomes an enabler rather than an obstacle in fulfilling religious obligations. 2. Health Monitoring and Medical Support The physical demands of Hajj rituals, combined with Saudi Arabia’s harsh climate, expose pilgrims to elevated risks of heatstroke, dehydration, respiratory diseases, and cardiovascular emergencies. AI- enabled health technologies offer preventive and responsive solutions. Wearable devices embedded with AI algorithms can monitor vital signs — including heart rate, temperature, and oxygen levels — in real time. Abnormalities trigger automated alerts that allow medical teams to respond promptly and effectively (Rahman et al., 2022). For healthcare providers, AI-based decision-support systems expedite diagnosis, prioritize patients based on urgency, and optimize resource allocation. Predictive analytics can further anticipate surges in specific health conditions by analyzing environmental data such as rising temperatures or dust levels, ensuring timely preparation (Alquayt et al., 2025). These interventions collectively establish a healthcare ecosystem that is proactive rather than reactive, enhancing the overall well-being of pilgrims during their spiritual journey. AI’s role in healthcare during Hajj demonstrates its potential to transform medical services from fragmented and reactive to holistic and anticipatory. Through continuous monitoring and predictive insights, AI ensures that pilgrims’ health is safeguarded, reinforcing the pilgrimage as both a physically sustainable and spiritually fulfilling journey. 3. Multilingual Communication and Guidance As one of the most linguistically diverse gatherings worldwide, the Hajj brings together pilgrims from over 180 countries, resulting in significant communication challenges. Miscommunication during rituals or emergencies can cause confusion and jeopardize safety. AI-driven natural language processing (NLP) technologies offer practical solutions by providing real-time translation of announcements, signage, and instructions into multiple languages. This ensures that essential guidance is accessible to all participants regardless of linguistic background (Qurashi & Sharpley, 2018). Additionally, AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants deliver personalized support to pilgrims by answering logistical queries, clarifying ritual procedures, and providing directions in native languages. These tools reduce dependence on human translators, who are often overwhelmed, while fostering inclusivity and dignity. In this way, AI transforms linguistic diversity from a barrier into an asset, enabling pilgrims to concentrate on worship rather than communication difficulties (Alafif et al., 2025). By bridging language divides, AI fosters inclusivity and ensures equitable access to information for all pilgrims. This technological intervention enhances safety, reduces anxiety, and promotes a more unified collective experience, reinforcing the universality of Hajj as a gathering of the global Muslim community. 4. Spiritual Enrichment and Educational Support Beyond its logistical contributions, AI has the potential to enhance the spiritual dimensions of Hajj. Mobile applications equipped with AI can provide context-aware guidance, reminding pilgrims of appropriate prayers, explaining ritual significance, and offering real-time instructions tailored to individual progress. Such personalized guidance reduces uncertainty and promotes greater confidence in performing rituals accurately (Shambour & Gutub, 2022).
