A girl’s life is pulled out of the rubble, Small and fragile, Alone in a world so dark, Angels protected her, a divine mark. No tears escaped her gaze, In the craziness of the bombings surrounding, in a chaotic haze, In the rescuers’ embrace, no parents in sight, No father, no mother, no siblings in the night. Such a miracle, she escaped unbroken; Praises echoed Allahuakbar, Allahuakbar, Ya Allah, God has spoken, In every rescuer, care is near, Everyone becomes the guardian, such are the Palestenians. Love is abundant, like a river’s flow, In the hardest times, it continues to grow. An attack against children, Limbs taken away, a future forlorn. Childhood is stolen But faith will never be torn. On the other side of the world, With every falling rocket, humanity swirled, They watched like a showwith popcorns and drinks, Do they not have compassion?” One would think. The numbness takes hold, The heart turns cold. In all this arrogance, lo and behold, Nightmares and nervousness come untold, Listening to the resistance’s chant, “We are here” “To be free from subjugation, we have nothing to fear!” Deceit is as clear as the sky, By a nation that has the longest lie, To take the land without the people, Making up stories that are weak and feeble. The world watching, helpless and aghast, As the foundations of compassion are surpassed. While United Nations and world leaders roaming in circles, Arguing and debating the legal hurdles. In the walls of words of self- defence, veto and abstention, It all actually means continued genocide and occupation. In the realm of minds, where wisdom takes root, Intelligence is for those who seek truth, For the history is clear from the very start, A nation that is torn apart. No missile can destroy the iman, With so much happening parallel in the Quran, In the hearts of the believers, the martyred are not dead, Bal Ahya’! Walakin la tash’urun, They are alive, realize it soon. Hasbunallah wa nikmal wakil! Sufficient for us is Allah, the best Disposer of affairs, A profound belief, a complete feel, For Allah is the Healer of all despairs. Let the world not be mute, let wisdom speak, Against the brutality, let justice seek. For in the midst of atrocity, the world must find, A shared humanity, compassionate and kind. Peace be upon you.
