CampusNews 013 T o support digital transformation in higher education, USIM launched USIM Virtual ID (V- ID) Card through the USIM Mobile 2.0 platform. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaari said in his mandate ceremony, which took place in the Chancellor’s Hall recently that the spark of the idea to implementing this V-ID card began at the end of 2022 with the cooperation of the technical group of the System Development and Engineering Center (SDEC), the Strategic Communication Center (StraComm), the Security Department, and the Department of Registrar. “The university always supports the era of modernization and the latest technology, and this V-ID card acts as an alternative to physical identification because it facilitates access at our fingertips using a smartphone,” he said. He also adds that the early version of the USIM Mobile app, developed in August 2019, is built purposely for undergraduate students to access their exam results and check student ledgers.
