USIM Signs MoU with Multinational Electrical Component Manufacturer USIM, UniSZA sign MoU to collaborate in the field of Islamic Studies U SIM has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ALPS Electric Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a multinational company with 34 years of experience in manufacturing electrical components and automotive infotainment. USIM was represented by Vice- Chancellor Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaarani, while ALPS Electric Malaysia Sdn Bhd was represented by Managing Director, Yuko Inoue. Recognizing the importance of collaboration between industry and academia and its symbiotic benefits, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaarani emphasized that USIM and ALPS highlight the importance of working together towards producing future communities and leaders. For a start, this MoU focuses on providing attachments for USIM students at ALPS through structured training. Under this arrangement, both USIM and ALPS have agreed to create learning opportunities for selected students to gain knowledge and practical experience in the industrial working environment. Those present at the MoU ceremony included Ho Kok Chung and Horishi Kodaira, Executive Directors of ALPS Electric Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Mohammad ‘Azman Mansor, General Manager of ALPS Electric Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment (FKAB), Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Khairi Abdul Rahim, as well as the management staff of both USIM and ALPS Electric Malaysia Sdn Bhd. I n an effort towards realizing USIM 2025 Mission, which aims to become a Global Reference University based on the integration of Naqli and Aqli Knowledge, USIM is now striving to mobilize and activate cooperation with various parties inside and outside the country. The focus is particularly on training, research, and expertise sharing. A Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony between USIM and Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) was held at the USIM Chancellery Gallery to formalize the cooperation between these two higher education institutions. USIM was represented by Vice Chancellor Professor. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaarani and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) Professor Dr. Mohd Radhi Ibrahim, while UniSZA was represented by its Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Fadzli Adam, and Professor Dr. Zuhairah Abdul Ghaddas, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) of UniSZA. Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaarani, in his speech, said that the cooperation between USIM and UniSZA through a Memorandum of Understanding has been established since 2017. “Thus, with the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding, it is hoped that both Universities will take steps to contribute and support each other in areas of beneficial cooperation, especially in research and community service, joint organization of international seminars/conferences, joint ventures in academic expertise and the development of Islamic Studies as well as scientific activities,” he added.
