Community Engagements Dentistry for the Needy — Dentistry for theNeedy (DFTN) is a community engagement programme that aims to provide valuable free dental treatment and dental education to those in need, including the homeless, orang asal, refugees, and orphans. Students from the pre-clinical and clinical years of the Faculty of Dentistry at USIM actively volunteer in DFTN programmes, serving homeless individuals in Chow Kit and Rohingya refugees in Selayang. These activities offer the students a platform to apply their knowledge from the classroom while gaining experience working with the community. In 2019, DFTN was recognized as the Star Golden Hearts Award recipient for its dedication to building bridges between different communities, promoting racial harmony, and fostering unity. Mobile eye specialist Clinic - Klip Mobile — Universiti Sains IslamMalaysia, in partnership with the Department of Health in Negeri Sembilan, has played a pivotal role in delivering a mobile specialist clinic service aimed at providing advanced eye treatments, recognized as KLiP Mobile, to the populace of Negeri Sembilan. This comprehensive initiative entails extending medical care through mobile specialist clinics, ensuring accessibility even to residents in the remote hinterlands. Concurrently, the program endeavors to furnish essential medical services to empower Persons with Disabilities and cater to the healthcare needs of the elderly community. 36
