i CHIEF EDITOR’S NOTE CHIEF EDITOR’S NOTE The issue of media and religion has been debated at different levels among scholars. The discussion has spread beyond geographical limits including countries and continents with believers and non-believers. Among the discussion focus in this topic includes the role of religion in journalism, coverage about religion by the media and representation of media on issues related to religion. Hence, our issue in this edition is to discuss media and religion. There are 13 articles in this edition in English and Malay. Dr. Kartini Kamaruzzaman for instance discusses on media representation and the impact toward Islam while Dr. Suria Hani A. Rahman discusses the coverage of Islamic values in entertainment content. Other articles focus on religion and social media and other related topics. With the articles selected for this edition, we sincerely hope for Offstone to provide some insights to our readers not only about media and religion but also on communication and Islam in general.
