OFFSTONE JAN EDITION 2023

i CHIEF EDITOR’S NOTE Alhamdulillah, here we are again in the latest edition of the Offstone, an e-magazine aims to discuss topics related to Islamic Communication published by the Faculty of Leadership and Management. In this issue, we are glad to announce that our publication frequency has been changed from June and December edition each year to Jan and June edition. This is to ensure that all articles can be published within the same year in case there is any delay in the publication process. But of course, the focus of the content remains the same. We still accept articles related to communication and Islam and opens opportunities for authors to openly discuss about their thoughts and research findings in this semi-academic e-magazine. Authors can range from academics to students, and we hope this a great opportunity for our students to write and contribute to various debates related to the communication field. In this edition, we have selected and published 11 articles, six in Bahasa Melayu and five in English. Malay articles discuss topics including the treat of extremism in social media, mental health state among users of social media, cybercrime literacy and cyber security, cyber bully in film industry and experience in conducting research about extremism in Malaysia and Indonesia. Some of these discussions are research based, while some are thought sharing by the authors. For English articles, there are discussions about ethics in communication related to cybersecurity, gaming, social media and cybersecurity, and the issue of security of shopping online. All these articles should provide some insights related to cybersecurity in our world today. So, we hope we are able to provide some useful sharing in the edition. Happy reading and remember to be fully equipped with knowledge related to cybersecurity so we will not be the next victim of online fraud! Dr. Siti Suriani Othman Chief Editor
