Ustaz Haji Jalaluddin bin Haji Hassanuddin was born and raised in Kampung Berhala Gantang, Temerloh, Pahang in 1950, and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Arabic and Quranic Studies from SaddamUniversity, Baghdad, Iraq. He is the founder of the Al Baghdadi Technique, which was established in 2009 and is recognised as an innovation in the al-Quran Education. He is the successor of a notable Islamic scholar as his father is Tuan Guru Haji Hassanuddin bin Mohamad, the founder of Madrasah Al Wosto in Kampung Berhala Gantang, Temerloh, Pahang, who was awarded the Tokoh Ulama Negeri Pahang from His Majesty, the Sultan of Pahang. The Madrasah Al Wosto is currently managed by the Pahang State Government and the name has been changed to Sekolah Menengah Agama Al Wosto. Before establishing the Al Baghdadi Technique, he spent his early years involving himself directly with the teaching and learning of the al-Quran by becoming a lecturer at a private college, as well as being a Marketing Executive for a publishing and distribution company for books on al-Quran Education. He was also the Head Da’wah Officer for a company specialising in Islamic Wealth Inheritance. Ever since returning from Baghdad, he has organised various seminars, workshops, and courses especially on al-Quran Education. He was also selected as the Primary Trainer for al-Quran reading technique originating from Indonesia to be marketed in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei. Now, with the invention of the Al Baghdadi Technique, there have been many members of the public who rediscovered their love for reading the Quran, and some have successfully completed reading the entire 30 juzu’ of the al-Quran, while others have memorised the collection of selected verses. Ustaz Haji Jalaluddin formed Al Baghdadi Method Sdn. Bhd. in January 2011 to expand the products developed from the Al Baghdadi Technique innovation. To date, there are over 100 products that are created for the development of al-Quran education for all levels from preschoolers , primary schoolers, youths, adults, elderly, to pregnant mothers. In May 2012, he established Akademi Al Baghdadi Sdn. Bhd. to train and develop professional al-Quran teachers especially to fulfil the teaching requirements of the Al Baghdadi network. In March 2013, with the hope to expand the Al Baghdadi technique nationwide, Al Baghdadi Group Sdn. Bhd. was formed to develop programmes for the Al Baghdadi Learning Centres. Starting with the Al Baghdadi Learning Centres as the centres for al-Quran education, the programmes have expanded with the opening of Al Baghdadi Playtime Centres (preschoolers), followed by Al Baghdadi Childcare Centres (childcare) and Sekolah Rendah Integrasi Tahfiz Nadi Al Baghdadi (primary schoolers). Today, there are over 500 Al Baghdadi Learning Centres nationwide offering al-Quran education at all levels. In September 2016, he established Neuro Nadi International, a brand of Al Baghdadi al-Quran Education for the international market and now there are Neuro Nadi learning centres in Brunei, Indonesia, and Singapore, with an enrolment of over 5,000 students. In addition, since the formation of Al Baghdadi, the Al Baghdadi Foundation was establihed to offer free Al Baghdadi al-Quran education programmes to orphans, reverts, indigenous people, single mothers, elderly people, and asnaf . Other welfare programmes provided through the foundation also include flood disaster relief, back to school programmes, and al-Quran waqf, among others. Al Baghdadi has received numerous acknowledgements and awards from recognised private and government bodies. The highest award received was the Gold Medal at the Malaysian Intellectual Property Award organised by the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia. Besides the Malaysian Book of Records, Al Baghdadi, through Neuro Nadi International, has received acknowledgement from the Brunei Book of Records in 17 categories it was nominated for.
