2. an active member of the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM), Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) and was then appointed as the President of PAM from 1985 to 1987. 3. appointed as an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Universiti Putra Malaysia from 2006 to 2015 due to his vast expertise in the field of architecture. 4. appointed as PAM Fellow in 2009, CIDB Fellow in 2015 and PAM Council Member from 2019 to 2020. In addition, his contributions in the architectural industry through various renowned projects in Malaysia have also resulted in a great transformation to the image and identity of the country’s architecture. The following is the list of his involvements and projects that have created a marked impact on the field of national and international architecture: 1. He was an Architect who specialises in building conservation and restoration works, and was involved in the Kuala Lumpur Structure Plan, Industrial Courts, Infokraf Centre, Chartered Bank, Kuala Lumpur Museum aswell as the conservation and readaptationworks of Carcosa Seri Negara. 2. For commercial buildings, he also designed the Development Bank, MNI Twin Towers, Telekom Regional Headquarters, Maybank Square, PNB Serviced Apartment and Tabung Haji Building in Ipoh. 3. For the religious buildings category, he had designedmore than 14 mosques and several mussalla and among them are the Abu Bakar As-Siddiq Mosque in Bangsar, the UIAMosque in Gombak, the SAAS Mosque in Petaling Jaya, the Precinct 8 Putrajaya mussalla and the Islamic Centre. 4. His success in developing the Abu Bakar As-Siddiq Mosque which became the prototype for a modern mosque (fulfilling the characteristics of a community centre not only for prayer, and social activity purposes but also as a centre of knowledge) had made him rise to fame, and subsequently led to him being specially invited and appointed as the Architect for the National Mosque in the Republic of Maldives by the President of Maldives in 1982. This project, in particular is pivotal as it is considered as the ‘first ever Malaysian export of professional service’. 5. He was also directly involved in the turnkey zero cost construction works for the Malaysian Embassy building in Bangkok in 1994. 6. In addition, he also designed the Ministry of Home Affairs building in Jalan Duta, IPBMM Campus, Kidzania Theme Park in Petaling Jaya, Brunsfield Residency in Ampang, Istana Negeri Sembilan and Royal Chulan Cherating Chalet. Dato’ Ar. Haji Hajeedar’s excellence in the field of architecture is also acknowledged through several Royal awards conferred to him: 1. Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN) [Member of the Order of the Defender of the Realm] by His Majesty the Yang di Pertuan Agong in 1978. 2. Darjah Kebesaran Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (DSIS) [The Order of Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah award] by His Majesty the Sultan of Selangor in 2009. 3. Darjah Setia Tuanku Muhriz Yang Amat Gemilang (DTSM) award by His Majesty Yang Dipertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan in 2016. At the international level, he was awarded the Certificate of City Planning from Japan in 1974.
