While at USM, Professor Dato’ Dr. Roshada had been appointed as the Dean of Institute of Graduate Studies and the Chairman of the Council of Deans of Graduate Studies Malaysia. Until now she is still an active member of the postgraduate education network named Forces and Forms of Doctoral Education based in the United States. In 2013, she began to continue her quest at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and worked as a Professor in the Food Biotechnology Programme at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) until her retirement in 2020. At FST, she was assigned to teach Biochemistry, Enzymes and Fermentation Technology, and also Research Methodology courses. As part of her duties at USIM, she was the Founding Director of USIM Alamiyyah from 2013-2016. As a Director, she introduced the Internationalisation@Home programme and the Islamic Global School Network (i-GSN). Subsequently, she was entrusted by the Ministry of Higher Education to assume the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) (TNCPI) of USIM from 1 December 2016 to 30 November 2019. In bearing the trust as a TNCPI, she is committed to dignifying USIM as an Islamic University that practises Maqasid Syariah through research activities, and recognised at the international level. This is also aligned with the essence embraced by the University and the Sustainable Development Goals - good education for the public . She made strides by introducing a Roadmap through a 10-year Research Plan that emphasises research culture and facilitates the process to assist USIM academics. Contributions from lecturers in the field of Literature and Humanities related to Islam have been highlighted through a USIM Journal Categorisation Framework. This exclusive USIM framework considers renowned journals in Arabic and the Malay language that are not indexed in Scopus, but are accepted for promotion at USIM. Elements of Maqasid Syariah are also supported by her in the research audit instrument to evaluate the performance of Research groups and Centres of Excellence at USIM. This effort was followed by the emergence of the USIM Research Groups concept to foster the establishment of Centres of Excellence. Within 3 years, the MyRA score has risen 5% from 60.27 in 2016 to 65.65 in 2019. The overall publication of academic staff has experienced a 75% increase and the success of research grant applications has also increased by 50%. During her tenure too, an Open Access Policy has been successfully established in collaboration with USIM Library as the main scholarly channel , whereby USIM is the first public university in Malaysia to offer this service. Furthermore, in line with her effort for the Sustainable Development Goals recommended by the United Nations, she has been responsible for establishing the Centre for Sustainability and Serenity (C4SS) in Taman Mizan at USIM. On January 14, 2018, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Roshada Hashim was conferred the Darjah Setia Bakti Negeri Sembilan (DBNS) from His Royal Highness, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir at Istana Besar Seri Menanti. In that regard, she expressed her gratitude to HRH Tuanku for the award that is of great significance to her and her family. The conferment of the title of Dato’ is the second highest award that she received after being selected as the recipient of the Prof. Indira Parikh 50 Women in Education Leaders which she received during the World Education Congress at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, India in November 2017.
