Penerima Ijazah Kehormat • Recipient of Honorary Degree • الحائز على الشهادة الفخرية 27 His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, ranked first among the most influential Islamic figures in the world, in a report issued annually by the Royal Center for Islamic Studies. A strategic study in the capital of Jordan, "Amman," which appeared in a book titled "More than 500 Influential Muslim Figures in the World in 2017." The center showed that Prof. Dr. Ahmed extended the influence of his knowledge to all Muslims in the world, through his appointment as Sheikh Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, pointing to the defense of Prof. Dr. Ahmed on Islamic heritage and his emphasis on the importance of teaching this heritage to Al-Azhar students. His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Ahmad At-Tayyeb is a highly revered scholar whose career is replete with various academic activities. He has participated in numerous scholarly seminars and meetings both locally and internationally, including The 19th International Peace Forum in France, The International Islamic Conference on The Reality of Islam and its Role in Contemporary Society in Jordan, and the Interreligious Respect Summit at Harvard University in New York. Furthermore, he was conferred the title “Honorary Citizen of Samarkand” at an international conference and serves as the Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, a primary reference for the Muslim community in addressing various issues. His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Ahmad At-Tayyeb’s dedication and efforts in the academic field have been recognized with numerous honorary doctorates from esteemed universities. Among these are the University of Malaya in 2012, the State Islamic University Maulana Malik Ibrahim in Indonesia in 2016, Beni Suef University in Egypt in the field of Social Sciences, Prince of Songkhla University in Thailand in the fields of literature and Islamic studies in 2017, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan in 2018, and the Eurasian National University in Kazakhstan in the same year. TheMalaysian government awarded him the InternationalMaal Hijrah Personality for 2020/1442H during the National Maal Hijrah Celebration. These accolades are bestowed in appreciation of his role in promoting moderate Islam and advocating for universal tolerance and peace. His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Ahmad At-Tayyeb has also contributed various literary works that serve as significant references in the academic world. Among his renowned works are the books “Mabahith al-Illah Wa al-Maklul Min Kitab al-Mawaqif,” “Mafhum al-Harakah bayn al-Falsafah al-Islamiyah wa al-Markisyyah,” and “Madkhal Li Dirasah al-Mantiq al-Qadim.” His collection of speeches has also been published in a special book titled “al-Qaul al-Tayyib,” which has had a profound impact on the development of Islamic proselytism and the resurgence of religious and political thought in the homeland. His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Ahmad At-Tayyeb is known as a dedicated scholar who tirelessly advocates for global peace and has received recognition from various quarters. His thoughts often touch on the ideology of moderation within the context of Malaysia’s multi-ethnic and multi-religious politics, and he promotes the empowerment of women in Muslim society. His insightful views have been instrumental in combating radicalization and extremism within the Islamic world, while also emphasizing the importance of preserving the Islamic heritage left by past scholars.
