MANASIK2025 Putrajaya, Malaysia, 7-8 Oktober 2025 663 in three main competency areas: (1) technical competency as a mutawwif, (2) managerial ability in Umrah services, and (3) ethical communication and guidance for pilgrims. Table 1 below shows a summary of the competency aspects obtained from the internship activities: Tabel 1. This confirms that the field experience was not only a form of service but also a process of Islamic character education in a global context. Through active involvement in this program, we not only gained an understanding of the service system and management of the Umrah pilgrimage but also acquired valuable experiences in building social relationships, improving communication skills, and fostering a sense of responsibility in serving others. Field Challenges as a Learning Medium The internship program as a mutawwif in Saudi Arabia represents a highly valuable form of field-based learning, particularly for students pursuing studies in Hajj and Umrah management. Throughout the internship, students encountered a number of multidimensional challenges, including communication and language barriers, cultural differences and social adaptation, extreme climatic conditions, as well as the dynamics of conflict management among pilgrims. Nevertheless, through these challenges, students were required to develop adaptability, improvisation, and problem-solving skills
