27 THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON AKIDAH, RELIGIONS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES (SIGMA10) The 1st Virtual International Conference on Akidah, Religions and Social Sciences (SIGMA10) was held successfully on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 with the theme, “Towards Peaceful Co-Existence and Excellence of Ummah: An Implication of Rahmatan Lilā’lamīn.” It was organized by the Programme of Akidah and Religion Studies, Faculty of Leadership and Management, USIM. The seminar also marked the 10 th series of its formation since 2010. The objectives of the conference were to promote peaceful coexistence within Muslims, to focus on religious tolerance and harmony between Muslims and Non-Muslims, and to highlight Islamic role models on the development of humanity and Ummah. The conference SIGMA was first held in 2010 with the aim of serving as a global platform to share knowledge and experience in the fields of Akidah. Tasawwuf, Religions and Philosophy. Last year’s Virtual International conference was more diversified and extensive in the areas it covered; it covered not only Akidah and Religions but also social sciences. The conference was blessed with two keynote speakers, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Anis Malik Thoha, The Deputy Dean, Faculty of Islamic Development Management, UNISSA, Brunei Darussalam, and Dr. Jamal Faruq Jibril Mahmud Ad-Daqqaq, Former Dean, Faculty of Islamic Da’wah, Al-Azhar University, Egypt. It was grateful to the many experts from different fields who came to share their knowledge in SIGMA10 in different languages, English, Arabic and Malay. Indeed, the conference was a platform for a collaborative environment to academicians, researchers, and practitioners to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of Aqidah, Religions and Social Sciences.
