The Impact of Financial Attitude and Environment Sustainabilityon FinancialWell-Being AmongMalaysians: A Pilot Study Authors: Raja Puteri Natasha Raja Nor Azlan and Wan Rasyidah Wan Nawang Faculty of Economics and Muamalat Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia Introduction As part of our research on financial well-being (FWB), a pilot study was conducted to explore the impact of financial attitude and environmental sustainability on the FWB of Malaysians. FWB is a critical global issue affecting human development, economic growth, social stability, and quality of life. It is essential at the national level for individual prosperity, a country’s economy, and societal health and stability. Without doubt, the issue has become a global concern requiring global attention and action, with even greater urgency at the national level. The global focus is shifting towards the impact of environmental sustainability on FWB due to increasing global concern over climate change. Environment stability and FWB are interconnected in several ways, and the health of the environment can significantly impact economic prosperity and the FWB of individuals and communities. A healthy and stable environment significantly influences sustainable economic activities, contributing to the FWB of individuals, communities, and nations. FWB, which is crucial for attaining several key United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030, specifically no poverty (SDG1), good health and well- being (SDG3), reduced inequality (SDG10), responsible consumption and production (SDG), and climate action (SDG13).
