Mohd Hilmi Daud Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh Greetings and welcome to the July-December edition of the Muamalat eNewsletter for the year 2023! We are pleased to announce the publication of the second edition of FEM eNewsletter 2023, which offers informative and engaging articles, activity reports, and updates. The issue comprises fifteen scholarly pieces written by academics, practitioners, and students covering various facets of business, along with fifteen reports documenting faculty activities carried out over the past six months. We are grateful for the insightful articles we have received in the fields of business, accounting, economics, social finance, entrepreneurship, marketing, consumer behavior, Islamic banking, and finance. These articles are expected to provide our readers with novel insights and creative ideas. This issue sheds light on various academic and non-academic activities undertaken by the faculty, alumni, and students. These include a report on the launch of a shariah audit policy paper, the collaboration between the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) and USIM, the 10th International Islamic Economic System Conference (I-iECONS 2023) held in Makkah Al- Mukaromah , the appointment of the FEM Alumni Chapter management committee, and several other noteworthy events. Additionally, the publication list of faculty members during the latter half of 2023 is also highlighted. We also provide information on the details of postgraduate academic programs and our prominent journal, the Journal of Muamalat and Islamic Finance Research (JMIFR). We convey our deepest appreciation to all those involved in the production of FEM eNewsletter 2023, including the faculty management and members, authors from industry, academia, and students, and specifically to the editorial board members. Their exceptional contributions have ensured the dissemination of useful knowledge to our readers. We value the ongoing support and sharing of knowledge from all individuals. As Peter Drucker famously stated, “knowledge possesses power.” In a quote by Benjamin Franklin, controlling access to opportunity and advancement is crucial, and investing in knowledge yields the highest returns. May there perpetually exist intellectual individuals in our midst who actively contribute to the advancement of a society characterized by knowledge of Naqli and Aqli. We wish you a pleasant reading experience!
