One of the long term solution is to provide quality education including skills training for adult. UK’s government is one of the country that already take baby step to overcome technology unemployment. Based on UK’s government official website, the country announcing the nation’s intent to invest millions into a “technical education system” in term of education reform as part as “Industrial Strategy”. 3. Adaptability ‘Adaptability’ is formally defined as the ability to adaptively manage cognition, emotion, and behavior in response to new, changing,and/orchallenging settings and circumstances (Martin, 2012). Technology adaptability is the ability to learn technology quickly or deal with technology issues efficiently and confidently (McMichael, 2018). The technology disruption affects all industries, society and culture including the tourism industry, which indirectly drives all parties (service providers and clients) from all spheres of society to adhere to the latest trends. The rapidity at which these technology is evolving poses some difficulties in terms of adaptability. For example, with technology advancement, people can book hotel, public transport, make payment andarrange their journey or vacation through smartphone/ digital platform. But not everyone are capable in maximizing the digital platform especially for the elderly. Based on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), two primary factors influencing an individual’s intention to use new technology: perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness (Charness, N & Boot W, 2016). An older adult who believes that using a digital platform is time- consuming or too complex will be less likely to want to adopt this technology, whereas an older adult who believes that using a digital platform saves time and is simple to understand will be more likely to want to do so. Other factors The external factors also contribute to halal tourism industry development inMalaysia are shown in Table 1.
