We are pleased to present the first edition for 2023, which promises you informative and entertaining write-ups, stories, and updates. This issue presents sixteen English and Bahasa Melayu articles written by academics, practitioners, and students on a wide range of business topics that would hopefully serve our readers well. We are very fortunate to have received valuable articles covering areas in Accounting, Economic, Finance, Marketing, Islamic Banking, Supply Chain Management, Business Technology and Halal Tourism which we hope would provide our readers with new perspectives and ideas. On top of that, this issue also presents a glimpse of the academic and non- academic activities of the faculty, alumni, and students such as the Vice Chancellor’s Cup Debate tournament, the establishment of Chapter Alumni, the FEMily Iftar, Tutelage activities, as well as several outbound and inbound events. There is also the inspiring journey of faculty senior lecturer, Assoc. Professor Dr. Nuradli Ridzwan Shah, who worked closely with several media channels in disseminating knowledge to the public. Also highlighted is the list of recent indexed publications by faculty members in the first half of the year. Information on undergraduate and postgraduate programs as well as our leading publication, Journal of Muamalat and Islamic Finance Research (JMIFR), are also available in this inaugural issue. Finally, our faculty will be organizing the 10th International Islamic Economic System Conference 2023 (I-iECONS 2023) in August at Mecca Al-Mukarramah. We hope to see you there too! Last but not least, we would like to thank all of our faculty members, authors, and editorial board members for their valuable contributions to the first edition of The Muamalat Newsletter 2023. We appreciate everyone’s continued support in spreading knowledge, staying true to the assertions of Imam Al- Shafi’i that “knowledge is that which benefits, not that which is memorized” and Hazrat Ali ibn Abu Talib that “the most complete gift of God is a life based on knowledge”.
