83 / 87 ABSTRACT: Kembara Kata is a digital educational game on the Roblox platform designed to tackle a common challenge in Malay language education. Many upper secondary school students struggle to understand and apply peribahasa (Malay proverbs) due to teaching methods that prioritize memorization over engagement. This often leads to weak comprehension, low interest, and limited application in real-life communication or writing. The game’s objectives are to strengthen peribahasa mastery, create a gamified learning environment, and make proverbs easier to remember through interactive experiences. It aligns with the Dokumen Standard Kurikulum dan Pentaksiran (DSKP) for Bahasa Melayu Tingkatan 4 and 5 and applies the Pembelajaran Abad Ke-21 (PAK-21) approach, emphasizing communication, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. Targeted at Form 4 and Form 5 students preparing for SPM, Kembara Kata offers a rich narrative in which four royal siblings embark on a quest to reclaim a magical book of proverbs stolen by their corrupt uncle. Players progress through story chapters featuring mini- games, fill-in-the-blank tasks, visual identification challenges, and meaning- matching quizzes based on SPM-style questions. Instant feedback, point rewards, and level unlocks keep students motivated while reinforcing learning. Beyond its academic focus, Kembara Kata contributes to the SDG 4 (Quality Education) by offering inclusive, accessible, and innovative learning experiences. By blending tradition with technology, Kembara Kata transforms how students experience peribahasa, turning a once static subject into an engaging, story-driven journey that motivates, empowers, and inspires a deeper appreciation for Malay literary heritage.
