71 / 87 ABSTRACT: Awareness for the environment remains low among younger generations despite the increasing concerns about climate change and waste pollution around the world. Many people do not fully know the importance of recycling in daily lives, using traditional methods of teaching environmental education also lack efficiency and encourage long-term behavioral change of the students. Hence it is clear that we need an interactive tool that can educate while fostering environmental responsibility in a fun and impactful way. The game Polluted is designed to educate the players on the principles of recycling and waste separation using the most intuitive way possible as well as teaching them the importance of taking care of the environment. The core features of the game are simple, players can pick up resources or recyclable items and throw it to the recycle bin or giving life to a tree so that it can grow taller. The player also plays an important role when it comes to sorting the correct item to the recycling bin. The game is set in a fantasy world where the protagonist find himself trapped in a cave due to the poor management on the environment, leaving imagination space for the players on the effects and possible threats there are for not recycling. The main target for this game is young students aged between 7 – 15 as a supplementary tool for learning or education. It can also be used in public outreach and education programs targeting young audiences.
