ABSTRACT COMPILATION - EduGC 2025

43 / 87 ABSTRACT "READY SET DRIVE" is a single-player, comedic survival adventure game that uses a unique driving simulation to teach road safety. The project addresses the problem of driver education often being perceived as tedious or unengaging, especially among teenagers. Our core learning objective is to provide an interactive and memorable experience that instils a deeper understanding of road rules and responsible driving behaviour. The game's narrative introduces Jamal, a young man whose father is transformed into a road sign by a mysterious entity. To save his father and restore order, Jamal must master a series of driving simulation challenges under the guidance of a quirky mentor. The game features a Reputation System that scores players on their adherence to road rules and vehicle maintenance. Designed for a target audience of teenagers aged 16-21 , "READY SET DRIVE" uses a cartoonish art style and humorous tone to make serious educational topics approachable. The game's themes align with SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by promoting civic responsibility and SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) through its inclusive cast. The project’s combination of engaging storytelling, innovative mechanics, and a clear educational purpose offers a fresh approach to driver training, aiming to create a positive social impact.
