37 / 87 ABSTRACT: Strategic Survival: Compete or Collapse! is a classroom-based educational simulation game designed to immerse undergraduate and MBA students in real- time strategic decision-making. Developed using GDevelop 5, the game enables players to apply key strategic management tools — such as SWOT analysis, Porter’s Five Forces, and competitive positioning— within a dynamic, gamified business environment. The game addresses a key instructional gap: while students often learn these concepts theoretically, few opportunities exist for them to practice strategic thinking under pressure. Strategic Survival fills this void by simulating high-stakes decision-making in a competitive setting, encouraging players to analyze, adapt, and collaborate. Gameplay is structured into five phases per round: environmental scanning, strategy declaration, resource allocation, competitive roundtable, and performance scoring. Teams represent fictional companies, each with unique industry profiles. Market event cards introduce disruptions like price wars or tech shifts, requiring players to revise strategies in real time. Core features include interactive decision panels, animated market challenges, token-based resource systems, and visual performance feedback. Reflection prompts after each round support critical thinking and self-assessment. Aligned with the theme Interactive Education Empowering Madani Intellect @ “Pendidikan Interaktif Memperkasa Intelektual Bakat Madani,” the game empowers learners to develop intellectual resilience, ethical reasoning, and collaborative problem-solving — skills essential for future-ready leaders. It cultivates not only strategic acumen but also the moral and intellectual character envisioned by the Bakat Madani philosophy. Designed for 60 – 90 minutes session with 4 – 6 student teams, the game is suitable for strategic management, business simulation, and leadership courses. Instructors act as facilitators and discussion leaders, reinforcing the educational depth of the experience. Strategic Survival blends instructional design with gamification to deliver a meaningful, practice-driven approach to strategic learning.
