Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programme byCourseworkandMixedMode a. A Master’s degree in a related field or a field accepted by the Senate; or b. Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree recognised by the Government of Malaysia; or c. Applicants without qualifications in a related field or without relevant working experience must undertake appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the Senate; or d. Fulfil the requirements for APEL admission (subject to programmes approved by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency [MQA]). Doctor of Philosophy (Fast Track) Programme a. Possess a First-Class Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.67 in a related field or other recognised fields, from an academic or TVET programme; and b. Successfully pass the Rigorous Internal Assessment (RIA) at the faculty level and obtain approval from the Centre for Academic Management (PPA). Admission via the Fast Track Bachelor’s Degree pathway, subject to the following conditions: Notes: • *Application to the Doctor of Philosophy (Fast Track) programme is subject to the entry requirements in accordance with the standards of the respective programme of study. • *Students shall not be awarded a Master’s qualification as an exit award if they fail to achieve doctoral-level outcomes. 16
